FAQs

Working NHS shifts with Florence

Our aim is to be fully transparent with our health care workers. If you have other questions, please get in touch: NHS@florence.co.uk, or call 07476 563 305 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Our rates are set by the NHS trusts we work with. This means the rates you'll see can change depending on your location, skills and preferences.

As a guide:

Nursing shifts - £25 - 55 per hour,

HCAs - £11 - £19 per hour

You might see rates higher or lower than this.

Once you sign up using our app, you’ll be able to see all the roles and select from all the rates available near you.

We're an app, not an agency: we give you the power to browse and book the shifts you want near you, as well as track and manage your payments. No unwanted phone calls, no being hassled to go to shifts you don't want – you're in control.

How does the Florence app work?

Our app gives you a fast and easy way to book and manage your own shifts.

Download it for free and complete registration in your own time. We have a team available to support you through this process, which you can contact from 9am-5pm.

Once you've finished registration, a dedicated account manager will be in touch to support you with booking shifts, rates and general queries about the hospital you have chosen to work at.

I don’t have my documents right now. Can I still sign up?

Yes. You can take the first step and create your personal profile, which takes less than 5 minutes. Then, gather your documents and return at any time to finish your registration.

How can I get a new DBS?

If your DBS has expired, we can start a new application for you. Please email nhs@florence.co.uk to ask for help on this. Your DBS will cost approximately £55.60, which we will reimburse after you finish registration and have done your first shift.

References

Who can be my referee?

You'll need two references covering your last 3 years of employment to complete your registration. Both referees need to be people you've worked with who can comment on your practice.
